Render and cladding tools

All Render and cladding tools are divided into the following groups, depending on the role performed in the process:

Surface preparation - removing old materials, washing and removing dirt: this requires a hammer, chisel, metal brush, sandpaper, perforator, grinder, metal scissors, brushes, buckets, shovels;

Marking and setting corners - tape measure, angles, plumb bins and levels, pencil or marker;

Installation of auxiliary elements and assembly of scaffolding and scaffolding - hammer, screwdrivers, jaws, screwdriver, knife;

Equipment for working with plaster - creating, applying, leveling and shaping the surface, finishing and giving the look: described below due to their specificity and importance;

Protective clothing, shoes and PPE - gloves, goggles, earplugs, respirator, helmet.

HAWK

The main purpose of this tool is to keep a supply of mortar at hand in difficult conditions. When working a large area, frequent bending will put a lot of pressure on a worker back.

Hawk is convenient tool for hard-to-reach places. Plastic or wooden handles and aluminum or steel shields (400 x 400 mm) are the most common. HAWK is useful to adjust angles in concrete tunnels. For lightness one should take the edge of the shield lying on the forearm, and the centre is tight to the fist from above - then you won't have to squeeze it much. You can use it to apply mortar to the wall as a trowel.

Trowel

To level or remove the putty, take a trowel. A thin one will work in hard to reach places, a wide one will work under the ceiling. The width is 3-50 cm, the thickness is about 1 mm.

It is convenient to mix and apply mixed for masonry and plaster, to level the surface, to widen the joints and many similar manipulations.

It represents a shield of a certain form with an L-shaped handle. Sizes - under the muscular capabilities of the master, up to 100 mm in length.

Angular Trowel is perfect for working with the corners. Angular Trowel comes in two options - inside and outside. Internal is not widespread, but well used trowel adjustable - with a certain knack it can save a lot of time.

Hammer

The hammer is used to prepare steel wire and strips that play the role of embedding parts, nailing. The design is simple - steel head on the handle, a wedge for nailing.

There are different sizes, the handle - wooden, plastic or fiberglass. The shape of the steel head varies depends on use, the handle may have holes for tying to the belt.

The masonry hammer differs from the usual hammer in that it has an elongated part designed to serve as a point when striking and making it easier to remove old coatings and perform masonry removal.
It combines the functions of a hammer, pickaxe and axe. The masonry hammer is a must tool, no matter what other cladding and render tools you have.

Float Rasp Pad

To grind the finished surface to make it smooth or to give it a special relief, a Float Rasp Pad can be used. This type is used at the finishing stage of finishing - when finishing the surface with further, for example, painting.

The material is foam and wood. The handle is usually made in conjunction with the working plate.

Float Rasp Perforated Pad is similar to a Float Rasp Pad, but consists of a base on which the mesh, perforated metal sheet or sandpaper is stretched.

Polystyrene Float

Used after the plaster has dried in order to give an even smoother surface. Composition: base, handle and device for gripping the mesh or plate (there may be screws with thumbscrews to secure the blade).

Feather Edge Darby

The main tool for leveling mortar on the wall is a plaster rule. It looks like a ruler, metal and with one pointed edge. The essence of feather edge darby is that when you carry it over the mortar, the sharp edge in contact with the points, removes the excess - the wall will take an even surface.

  • Long length and exceptional flatness, as well as a certain rigidity of the plaster rule allows you to use it for such cases as:
  • Laying of tiles - tile, paving;
  • Puttying;
  • Creation of poured floors and any floor screed;
  • Used as a level when installing plaster boards;

Made of aluminum alloys. Design - closed or nearly closed section with stiffeners. At the ends are usually stoppers, designed to protect the inner volume of mortar, which by the evening will only have to knock out, which will not be in favor of the Feather edge darby.

Automated tools

Cement based mortars have similar viscosity and moisture saturation. This similarity as well as the properties of mortars (flowability and transportability) led to the development of mechanized tools.

Their purpose is to relieve hand work in hard and time-consuming labor or to eliminate as much as possible.

DMT Splatter Gun

Manual "Splatter Guns" - the simplest, the principle of their action is to eject the mortar through the rotation of the handle and the centrifugal force created by this. The created sash forms a decorative plaster.

Mortar is laid and thrown through the same opening. On the steel body is fixed handle for holding, on the side there is a rotating handle. It is mounted on a zigzag axle, which enters the body, where it is mounted on a metal semblance of a brush.

Render Spray Machine

Render spray machine and mechanized mortar machines have the highest productivity, exceeding the volume of manual labor by 5 times or more, no matter what tools are needed for rendering work. It consists of a mixer and compressor unit on a frame or chassis, the mortar is fed through a hose and sprayer. Productivity of such machines is hundreds of square meters per hour. A frequently used representative is a concrete mixer: although it has no function of applying to the wall, it saves huge labor costs.

Inspection Tools

Plastering as having special requirements in terms of straightness and angle is not without measuring tools.

Measuring instrument is needed to perform marking operations, check the preparation for processing and control the parameters of the resulting surface.

To determine the angle of inclination (actually, full horizontality is required) helps the simplest plumb line: a strong and wear-resistant string with a weight on the end. The weight is most often made of stainless steel.

Spirit level serves as a measure of horizontality and verticality. Available in several length gradations, it can be equipped with several water or oil bubble blocks. Made of aluminum alloys, in the form of a beam box section. There are bubble, hydraulic, magnetic and laser levels.

For measuring angles, there are angle gauges, both conventional and modern electronic. For linear measurements, conventional tape measures are used.

There is no exact list of what tools are needed for plastering, but with these you can do almost everything.
